Packet 3 has left the bulding. Packet 3 was sent to Garrett's agceny yesterday. Once this is filled out they return to the Korean embassy. Then Garrett's visa interview should be scheduled. I'll check again next Wed to see where the paper work is.
Another step down one more to go. yahoo!
We have been hearing that families are traveling in their 14th week. That's 4 weeks away. I can't wait that long. Uggh! Let's hope for a miracle and our prayers are answered.
On the bright side I heard from our new SW yesterday. She is going to try and get us an update on Garrett since we are so close to traveling. Let hope we get one soon.
Check back soon

Tick Tock
Tomorrow will be one week since we cleared the NVC. On Thursday or Friday I'm going to start calling DC. They will tell us if Packet 3 has been sent to Garrett agency in Korea. Once Packet 3 has been sent back to the embassy they should schedule Garrett's Visa interview(medical exam). Shortly after the we should get our travel call.
We'll that how it should work in a perfect world. We'll from what I have been reading Korea only allows so many emigration permits a month for each agency. So now we're hoping that Garrett has this already on the Korea side. They won't issue his passport and Visa until he has this. The Korean ministry approve these and they only meet like every 4 to 6 weeks it sounds like. We are only at week 10 waiting and 2 weeks since our I600 approval. So lets hope we only have 2 more week until we get a travel call. That would out us at 12 weeks waiting. The full 14 weeks will be the end of march. We have our fingers crossed that we will get our travel call in 2 weeks.
I'm going to start organizing and packing Garrett's stuff and gifts this weekend.
I hope we hear good news at the end of the week.

Cleared NVC and Surprise Work Shower Yikes!
Wow what a week Mike and I have had so far.
We had our travel meeting at the agency yesterday. That was very informative. I think we have all the information we need. It was fun to see all the families that are in the same place we are.
Today was a fun day! One of my co-workers scheduled a meeting to discuss a project I was working on with her. She wanted to make sure all her documentation was up to date before she transitions to a new role. Yeah Right! Between her and another friend at work they were very sneaky. I show up for my meeting to find a room full of people and Mike.
Huh? They threw a surprise shower and invited Mike. It was lots of fun. Totally unexpected. I've only been there since Sept. I was totally surprised and it was lots of fun.
Then at the end of the day I called the NVC. I found out we have cleared the NVC(logged in Feb 15th. Logged out Feb 20th). and our paperwork is on the way to Korean Embassy. Yahoo! We are in the final steps. The only thing that needs to happen now is P3 needs to be sent to Eastern the agency Garrett is with. The Korean Embassy sends this to the agency. They fill that out and send back to the embassy. Then they schedule the visa interview (medical exam). Once his visa is issued it should just be a few days until we get our travel call.
I should be able to track the final paperwork though the office in DC. Hopefully in a week. We're getting closer.

1 week down how many more?
Monday will be 1 week since we found out we had I600 approval. We got our paper work and found out it was issued on Friday 2-8-08. Since tomorrow is a holiday. I'm going to call national visa center on Tuesday and see if we have been logged in and logged out yet. If we have been logged out that means our paper work is on its way to the Korean embassy. We can track what going on at the Korean embassy by calling an office in DC here in the US. We are hoping to hear good news on Tuesday.
Mike and I have been very busy gathering everything we need to bring with us to Korea. I'm not sure how were going to get it all there. We are evaluating our luggage. We want to travel as light as possible since we'll be carrying Garrett in our carrier on the way home. Mike will be stuck with most of the luggage.
We have purchased all of our gifts that we are going to bring to Foster mom and the agency.
We have to dress up when we are doing agency business. So Mike and I had to buy a few new things for meetings at the agency.
I got a dress on Friday for the first time meet with Garrett and foster mom. Mike got some more dress pants. We still have a few things to get but for the most part we're done with that.
We have all the stuff that we need for Garrett for the trip home.
The last few things that we were waiting on for Garrett's room came in so we got that all done now. I even got the stroller together all by myself.
Well that all for now check back for the latest.

I600 Approval
Are you ready? We're in the home stretch. We got confirmation this morning from our agency that we have our I600 approval. Yahoo! We'll be meeting Garrett in about 4 weeks!
We don't know when we will be traveling yet. All the paper work still need to go though some check point before Garrett's ready to travel. I think we will be expecting a travel call the week of March 10th.
Keep checking back. Things should move very quickly now

No News Yet
It's been a 1 1/2 weeks since our I600 was filed. No news yet. This is very nerve racking. Last Saturday we did get a confirmation receipt that the Bloomington CIS office did receive our paper work. There is a whole bunch of us in the Korea Program that are waiting for I600 clearance. It's crazy. There are 40 families waiting to travel. We have heard that things are really disorganized at the Bloomington CIS office right now. I have talked with a few people and they are going on 3 and 4 weeks waiting for clearance. But then there are others that are approved in a few days. I think at the end of next week I will have to start being the squeaky wheel and see if I can find out what our status is.
We have been waiting to travel 7 weeks today. I think we still on track for traveling at the end of March if we get I600 clearance by next week. If not I think it will be the beginning of April. Generally it takes 10 to 14 weeks from the time of acceptance. Due to our I600A taking so long and now our I600 I think we will be delayed by 1 or 2 weeks. Let's hope that I'm wrong and we get surprised and travel early. The hard part is being in the dark. Technically we could be approved right now and not know for 2 weeks. The only way we know is getting some paperwork in the mail.
Once we get the paper work we can track it through the system.
Say some prayers that the USCIS speeds up.
Garrett will be 8 months on Feb 13th. We have not recieved any updates.

Jungle Room
Mike and I have been busy getting Garrett's room done. We're getting closer. We still have to get a mattress. We are also waiting on the tall dresser and we need to figure out if we're going to have a rocker to read Garrett books at bed time.
Here are some pictures of the room :-)
We'll take the bumpers down when Garrett comes home. For now it fun to look at :-)
Still have stuff to do but it's coming together.
